Tyranid Threat Grows!

Bugs Infest Imperium

Imperial Headquarters turned on the lights Thursday evening to find Tyranid insects swarming over four corners of Empire. And it only got worse. Dark Angels under the command of Charlie King were handed a nasty surprise when the hive mind of Chait Bukkapatnum darkened the Valley of Soso near an Angel outpost. The Tyranid hoard were up the slopes and into the Dark Angel lines quickly, sending them reeling back to the hive city of Blaborous. Another swarm of the scaly creatures, with synaptic connection to Daniel Reeves, repulsed a recon effort by Zack Holmes Deamonhunters, and sent them back into orbit.

Tyranids Swarm to meet Dark Angels

Daniel Reeves swarm then spied Josef Matulich’ Orks and devoured them in a brief encounter. No sooner had high command learned of these developments, reports came flooding in of a Tyranid swarm led by Evan (visiting from Castle Rock, Colorado), battling Aidan Matulich’s fearsome Chaos force near the Sandmacher crossroads. Apparently, Evan’s new species Carnifex smashed into the Chaos line and sent the mutants scurrying for cover. Although Imperial Command was pleased with the demise of a potential Chaos threat, they are concerned by the increased presence of Tyranids in the area and their apparent invincibility.

BREAKING NEWS: It was just reported by reliable sources that the Hass Tau legion was also confronted by a sizable Tyranid brood under synaptic control of Ian Bonner and has been pushed from their positions in what was termed a grinding fight.

Can anyone stop the bugs? That is the big question at Imperial headquarters as lamps burned late into the night.

STEGA-DEATH AT FALSMUIR

On the Warhammer, Ben Pax’s Lizardmen met Arron Guilkey’s Lizards on the Plains of Gritonia late Thursday and inflicted a stinging defeat on the blue ones. Reports tell of a Stegadon that ignored numerous assaults and inflicted grievous harm on the Guilkey reptiles. Observers tell of great piles of lizard being trampled by the enormous tusked one.

GUARD HOLD FLAMING ELDAR

Eldar forces of Corey Roskosk assaulted Imperial Guard units defending the approaches to East Gingham Thursday evening. The Guard, commanded by Ian Bugbee, were entrenched in the urban rubble near the Arrarr road junction when jetbikes of Roskosk’s Eldar appeared and attacked. These were followed by Eldar troopers and assorted support units. The Eldar troops got close in to the Guard line and inflicted numerous casualties with their flame projectors before being driven back by some expert shootings. Bugbee’s presence near the front, and his exhortations to his unit commanders seem to have made the difference in the outcome of the battle.

GUARD THROTTLES RENEGADE MARINES

Imperial Guard troops of Jon Kelley’s 3rd Regiment, with support from Capt. Dominic’s newly inducted Space Marines, located and dispatched a company of renegade Black Marines Thursday. The Black Marines were a part of Col. Colin Kaye’s battle force that rebelled recently over too much chocolate in their diet. Ably assisted by heavy weapons strategically positioned in the ruins of an office complex, Kelley was able to slow and then turn the Black Marines rambunctious behavior.  Capt. Dominic’s Marines then advanced in the center and dealt telling blows to the Black Marines. Accurate fire by the Guard and porous armor on the Black Marines were key to the success of Kelley’s victory.

As this is our first Warzone Tournament, we are working to improve the event by dealing with many issues that have come up. Your cooperation is needed in this endeavor.  We anticipate that the improvements we are making will lead to successful future tournaments.

In regards to rosters, our advice is that you come with a flexible force that can deal with any threat. Whether you know or not what opponent you will be facing, you should have a balanced force. Your scheduled opponent may not show up and you may have to face something completely different. The game may apply to your won-lost record as a result.

Games-Workshop designed the various forces so that players would have a fair chance of winning if they field a balanced force and play it well. Therefore, whining will get you nowhere, or possibly incarcerated in the Imperial prison on Doomlandia.

The main things to remember are that it is a game, and to have fun playing it.
